Leipzig (; German: [ˈlaɪptsɪç]) is the most populous city in the federal state of Saxony, Germany. Since the opening of the Leipzig City Tunnel in 2013, Leipzig forms the centrepiece of the S-Bahn Mitteldeutschland public transit system.
